HORIZON SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HORIZON'S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Horizon's first day of school is on Thursday, August 28th. There is no school on August 25th, 26th, and 27th for Horizon and PLE students, these dates are only for Great Start Conferences and students along with a parent or parents are only required to come to school during their scheduled Great Start Conference time which is the 45 minute time you signed up for using your Skyward Family Access account. Please contact the front office if you have any questions.
PICTURE DAY IS: FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH
Pictures will be taken during school on Friday, September 5th. Envelopes will be available for parents to pick up in the Horizon entrance during the Great Start Conferences. We will keep extra envelopes in the front office for students to pick up once school has resumed. All parents wishing to order pictures must send their child to school with the envelope filled out and payment included.
GREAT START CONFERENCE
When you register this school year, you will also sign up for a 45-minute Great Start Assessment Conference that will be held on August 25th, 26th and 27th. The purpose of this conference is to complete the first individual reading assessment for your child. Because these assessments can be lengthy, this time does not include a parent conference.

While your child is being assessed, parents are welcome to drop off school supplies in their child's locker and common supplies can be left on tables that will be outside the classroom in the hallway.  We ask that parents then head down towards the cafeteria to talk with the bus company, meet with administrators and get any questions answered that you may have regarding registration, school year, etc.
